CASTED: Rads

CASTED: Rads
The ED MSK Radiology Course

A live, interactive, online course focused on better understanding and using orthopedic plain films in the Emergency Department.

Tons of useful clinical pearls to use on your next shift – and every shift thereafter!

Tips on how to better order, interpret and understand the clinical relevance of what is being seen.

Develop an approach to reading films. Not all views are equal – learn which carry more value. Assess if films are adequate to make important decisions.

Appreciate how imaging not only helps with diagnosis but is critical for management decisions. You will be better at both recognizing fractures – and understanding how to stratify fractures. Learn about under-appreciated x-ray features that suggest operative management.

Discover numerous extra views that can reveal subtle but serious diagnoses. Know when to order them. How to interpret them. CASTED: Rads will reveal tons of tips to use a simple tool – a plain x-ray – far more effectively!

CASTED: Rads will also cover:

  • surface anatomy pearls.
  • subtle x-ray findings that impact management.
  • indications for advanced imaging in the ED – and what to do if you don’t have access.
  • the role of POCUS – and pearls to maximize its benefit for MSK patients.
  • PACS pearls – how to get the most out of your digital x-ray tools.

Clinically correlation is not only recommended – it’s always included!

Your approach to films will radically change. And you will notice a difference on your next shift.

Lots of cases, small course sizes, fun and interactive – you will be so much better with x-rays after this course.

Intended audience:
Emergency Medicine staff MDs, residents, PAs, orthopedic technologists, NPs, RNs.
Radiology staff will also benefit hearing about clinical correlation and see x-rays in a different light.

CASTED: Rads is best taken several months after a CASTED: Emergency course. Our CASTED: Emergency course is our comprehensive ED ortho course – and the foundation of changing your approach to ED ortho. CASTED: Rads is much more focused on imaging pearls, and when taken months after CASTED: Emergency, will serve to remind you of the many pearls dispensed at the course.
